2A Continental Architectural Awards 2022, Dubai | 10 June – 19 November | Architectural competition

The 8th 2A annual Continental Architectural Awards 2022 will have the theme of ‘Innovative Contextual Architecture in Continents’. This architectural competition takes place every year and celebrates globally the achievements in architecture and urban design. The competition features awards, exhibitions, and debates among the participants on the methods and influences. The ceremony for the Winner Announcement will take place at Canadian University, Dubai on 19 November 2022.

2A Continental Architectural Awards Categories

• Interior architecture
• Religion, Civic Transportation, and Community Based Projects
• Residential
• Public (sports and leisure, hospitality, mixed-use, education, health)
• Commercial (retail and wholesale, production, office, and business)
• Rural projects, public spaces (squares and streets), urban projects, landscapes
• Old and New (Regeneration, Restoration, Renovation, Reuse, and Adaptation)

Specific guidelines

• 2A Continental Architectural Awards [2ACAA 2022] is a one-stage entry and two-stage judgment competition. The 1st stage consists of the qualification of the candidate’s project.
• This architectural competition is open to all professional entrants, i.e., individual architects, urban designers, urban planners, multi-professional teams, landscape architects, and architectural firms and offices.
• Other associated bodies such as the clients, developers, and contractors, shall also enter on behalf of the architect, with their consent.
• Joint projects between universities and industries are eligible to take part in the competition.
• The 1st stage entries include 2 sheets of the introduction of the project (maximum 10 MB for Each File of the Panel).
• 2 PDF panels A2 size for presenting the project which shows the project images in the various dimensions, the plans, diagram, etc.
• The candidate’s projects for the 1st stage will be notified by email and announced on the 2A magazine website.
• All the projects must have been completed on or after 01 January 2012. For Future Projects/Innovative Design category entries, the design dates must not be older than 2012.
• The Future project category covers all eligible entries, regardless of the project program and subject.
• All projects should have been built /located in the countries of Asia in the 2A Asia Architecture Award. The same rule applies to other continents as well.
• Participants may submit multiple projects under one website account, and there’s no limit on the number of submitted projects.
• Each project can be applied to only a single category of the competition. Hence, one project cannot be submitted under 2 different categories.

Prizes

• The best 2 winners in each category will receive Gold and Silver medals and an award certificate, respectively.
• 1st place in all the categories will get the trophy.
• Upon Jury scores, there can be some special mentions in each category.
• The special mentions will also receive certificates of recognition.
• The projects of the winners will also be published in a special edition of 2A Magazine.
• Clients, developers, and investors of the winning projects will receive a Letter of Appreciation when requested by the winners.

The participants of the competition of 2A Continental Architectural Awards will be able to gain recognition. They will also be able to get acknowledgment on a global level. The architects and designers participating in this competition will also be getting new ideas about the industry. They will also be able to take part in architectural networking between the continents.
